Entry 2 - Aimless wanderings

Ah, a new day and infinite potential for new adventures!

First thing I did was run back to the plains to hunt weak goblins. I really hate them since they picked on me when I was smaller so I killed hundreds. I was motivated to get to level 8 to wear the new clothes I'd bought on auction so I hunted like crazy up to level 7. Then I ran into some problems. At this level I couldn't get experience from what I usually killed any more but wasn't strong enough to tackle bigger things and escape with my life. So after a few beatdowns I did what came naturally and ran back to town with my tail between my legs.

And what did I do in town? I bought a cap. I think I look quite dashing in it! However the +1 defense wasn't really much help in saving my skin from the harder monsters I had to kill.

...which didn't deter me from trying. Here I am barely staying alive fighting a Yagudo. This type is very strong and relies on physical attacks rather than magic (and thus is the safer type to fight if you're too poor to buy antidotes to poison like I am). This is also one of the weakest Yagudo types I have seen, yet it still mauls me. Sigh.

After just escaping with my life I ended up back in Windurst. I saw a pretty light out to sea. I wonder what it is? A mystery I will look into when I'm big enough to ride a ship out that far. I also saw an airship land, but wasn't smart enough to take a picture of the maginificent thing with people streaming out of it. Maybe next time.

During my wandering in town I popped back to the auction house and sold junk until I'd amassed quite a few gil. I was browsing through the stuff on sale there and I saw a pair of claws I could actually use! I snapped them up along with a really tiny and weak cape and ran back to Sarutabaruta to test them out. Who would have thought actually using weapons would help so much? :P

At last I was out of my rut! I soon made level 8 with my new found power and celebrated by abandoning my old robe for something stronger.

I felt so much cooler and took lots of pictures of my greatness. However I decided I wanted the full outfit that came with the top part so back to town I went...

I went to explore some new places in town on the way to the auction house and caught my first glimpse of World Shifter, a new NPC for moving people to other servers (permanently). I thought he looked really cool so naturally I took a picture.

My new outfit, completed. The jaunty cap doesn't really match but I like it and until I can wear the level 11 headgear I bought it will have to stay. I actually have footwear now too and feel like a real person.

As I wandered back to Sarutabaruta again I found an NPC who looked just like me (only capless as she is obviously lacking my flair for fashion). This was the first person (NPC or otherwise) I had found with the same face and hair as me so I got excited and took pictures. For some reason the face I have is rather unpopular in this game - expect more rabid picture taking if I ever find someone else with it too.

After reaching what seemed to me to be the pinnacle of mightiness, I braved East Sarutabaruta for the first time since my dying spree the day before in the hope of completing Mission One. Here are some pictures I took in between running for my life in the ruins. A WONDERFUL pair of higher Japanese players saved me from being chased by a huge mob of goblins so I was able to complete the mission. The wall I am staring at in one picture is actually a secret passageway to the next area. Don't ask how long it took me to figure that out. The thing I am staring at in the other picture is a "Magical Gizmo". One mission down, two to go!

I found this guy yesterday in Windurst but today I took a picture of him. He looks so cool! A Galka fire eater. He hangs out with a bunch of other performers but I like him best. There are very few Galka in my town, mainly Tarutaru and Mithra with the odd Hume from time to time.

Saving the best for last (well, partly because it happened last), here is me meeting Laquincain for the first time. She looks rather intimidating with that enormous axe and high level armour but she kindly travelled all the way to my town by airship (which I forgot to take a shot of again) just to meet me and let me join the NeoGundan linkshell. A linkshell is like a relaxed type of clan for people to socialise and get help from others. NeoGundan is run by importers on Ragnarok so there are many people from all over the world in it - I was so happy to finally be able to make friends after being completely alone since starting. The little bluey blob by my name indicates the linkshell I am part of. I wonder what I can possibly do tomorrow to top the productivity of today?
